Cybersecurity Awareness for Financial Services


INTRODUCTION

The complexity of today’s connected digital environment is exposing organizations to numerous technology and cyber threats that could lead to substantial data and financial losses as well as reputational damages. Cyber criminals are accelerating their attacks and constantly evolving themselves using advanced technology and methods to evade detection. However, the fundamental motivation of these cyber criminals has not changed.

This short e-learning course is targeted at both front-line and back-office staff working in the financial sector to keep them at heightened awareness of the cybersecurity threats, the impact of cyber-attack, the regulation and compliance governing cybersecurity as well as the preventive measures and response that they can take against cyber threats.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  1. Develop an awareness of cybersecurity, the drivers and its impact
  2. Identify potential risks and threats associated with cybersecurity
  3. Protect personal and business information from cybersecurity threats
  4. Take appropriate actions as required against cybersecurity breaches

  • Module 1: Understand what is cyber security and why it is important
  • Module 2: Understand the global trends leading to cyber security
  • Module 3: Risks Arising from Climate Change – Focus on Physical and Transition Risks
  • Module 4: Supervisory & Regulatory Responses to Climate Change
  • Module 5: Understand the cybersecurity regulations and compliance requirements
  • Module 6: Understand how to take appropriate actions against cyber security breaches
  • Assessment: 10 Multiple-choice questions


IBF-FTS Funding

The Financial Training Scheme (“FTS”) provides funding for financial sector-specific training programmes which are recognized under FTS. This scheme is only eligible for company-sponsored participants who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, physically based in Singapore, and who have successfully completed a FTS programme. Financial Institutions (MAS licensed or exempt entities), involved in or supporting financial sector activities, are eligible to submit claims for company-sponsored participants.

IBF and MAS will enhance course fee subsidies for locals attending accredited or recognised courses up to 90%.

Terms and Conditions

1) You will receive the enrollment email within 2 business days after the payment verification. Payment verification will take 1-2 business days to verify upon successful registration. If you are new to Salmon Thrust online learning system, you will receive an additional invitation email to create your online account.

2) Access to the e-training materials is valid till:

  • 30th June (date inclusive) if you sign up between 1st January and 30th June 2022
  • 31st December (date inclusive) if you sign up between 1st July and 31st December 2022

3) This e-training programme takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

4) In order to qualify for Continuing Education credits from SGX, please complete all quiz questions found at the end of each tutorial (a 70% pass rate is required) by:

  • 30th June (date inclusive) if you sign up between 1st January and 30th June 2022
  • 31st December (date inclusive) if you sign up between 1st July and 31st December 2022

5) If participants wish to make any changes to their application or request for a refund, written notice should be given within 10 business days of receiving the access ID and password to the online programme and provided the access has not been utilised. There will be an administrative fee of 20% of the fees paid. There will be no changes or refund if notice is given thereafter or if the access has been utilised.
