Candlestick and Technical Analysis Charting Techniques

Course Date: 18 May 2019

Overview:
Japanese Candlestick Charting is one of the most popular trading tools. It is great for traders who want an extra edge in trading.

While this early version of technical analysis was different from the US version initiated by Charles Dow around 1900, many of the guiding principles were very similar:

  • The “what” (price action) is more important than the “why” (news, earnings, and so on).
  • All known information is reflected in the price.
  • Buyers and sellers move markets based on expectations and emotions (fear and greed).
  • Markets fluctuate.
  • The actual price may not reflect the underlying value.

Technical analysis relies on the assumption that all information is already reflected in the price of a security. This means that the analysis of that price is all that matters. By looking at price patterns and statistics, technical analysts try to gauge the market’s overall sentiment and determine where prices may be headed. Hence, there is nothing on a chart that matters more than price. Everything else is secondary.

Learning Objective:
Participants learn how to combine the best aspects of Japanese Candlesticks and Western technical analysis to identify high-probability trading opportunities. When used together, these analytical tools form a highly effective trading combination that allows for exceptional risk management and provides more reliable entry and exit points.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to use Candlestick and Technical Analysis Charting Techniques for trading in the market.

Target Audience:
Entry-level traders and investors.

Basic knowledge of technical analysis is an added advantage but not a pre-requisite.
