This is a facilitation-based learning program for those who want to further their knowledge in Fundamental Analysis (FA). Besides lectures, the program involves discussions and assessments to explore the subjective aspects of FA. After the program, participant will have a comprehensive understanding of FA and hence able to make in-depth assessment of companies. This module will help participants gain the skills needed to perform FA and apply FA confidently in their daily work.

- Investors wanting to perform in depth analysis on companies with Fundamental Analysis
Course Outline
Session 1: Business Analysis
The following concepts and framework to understand companies’ potential will be discussed in detail:
- Business Model
- Market Drivers
- Industry Trends
- Growth Projection
- Management and Corporate Governance
Session 2: Financial Statement Analysis
After a quick overview of financial statements, this section will mainly discuss on:
- Auditor’s Statement – What is the Auditor’s view of the company?
- Red flags and Business Warnings – Ratio Analysis to assess company’s financial health
- Corporate Actions – Review the various corporate actions for fund raising, distribution of earnings and other purpose and its impact to the stock prices
Session 3: Pricing Analysis
We will look at how to use the 3 main pricing analysis tools, namely, PE, PB and Dividend Yield on the following industries:
- Banks
- Plantation
- Oil and Gas
- Property
- REITs
Session 4: Trading Strategies
Participants will learn how to form an opinion of the market direction by analysing:
- Economic indicators
- Economic and Geopolitical events
- Market Valuation
With this opinion as background, participants will also learn how to perform fund allocation at different point in time.
Course Structure
There will be lectures, Facilitated Discussions, Q&A, Exercises and Assessments to ensure good grasp of the content. Participants are expected to pass the assessments to qualify for the funding.
Trainer’s Profile
Chua I-Min, CFA is the Lead Instructor for Investor Education with A.B. Maximus & Co. Pte. Ltd. He conducts regular classes for SGX Academy in fundamental analysis, stock valuation, REITs and property stocks investments. Professionally, Mr. Chua has more than 11 years of working experience mainly in the investment industry. He was the Chief Operating Officer for A.B. Maximus before his current role. Previously as a real estate investment professional in CapitaLand and subsequently PhillipCapital, he had collectively done investment deals amounting to S$250 million. Prior to that, he was based in China, participating in a successful IPO exercise of a Chinese company listed on the Singapore Exchange.
SkillsFuture Credit
With effect from January 2016, Singaporeans aged 25 years and above who received their SkillsFuture Credit account activation letter will be eligible for an initial credit of $500 which can be used to pay for course fees for a range of eligible courses. SkillsFuture credits can be used for this course.

IBF-STS Funding
The IBF Standards Training Scheme (“IBF-STS”) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the IBF Standards. IBF-STS provides 70% funding for direct training costs subject to cap of S$7,000 per participant per programme. For all IBF-STS programmes commencing on or after 1 July 2016, Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 90% co-funding of direct training costs, subject to existing grant caps of S$7,000 per programme. Singapore Permanent Residents will continue to be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training costs for IBF-STS programmes.

Changes
Singapore Exchange reserves the right to make changes to the time, date, syllabus, speakers, venue or cancel the course if warranted by circumstances beyond its control.
Cancellation and Transfer Policy
Cancellation for a registration must be made in writing at least 10 business days before the event and a refund (less a 10% administrative fee of total course fee) will be made. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 10 business days prior to the event. All requests for replacement must be made in writing at least 3 business days prior to the event.
SGX reserves the right to make changes to the date, time and/or other information regarding the course if warranted by circumstanced beyond its control.

Minimum Class Size
The minimum class size for the programme is 10 confirmed registration and SGX Academy may, as its discretion, start a class without the minimum required number.
