Speakers’ Biodata: 

Th’ng Beng Hooi 
Mr. Th’ng Beng Hooi, CFA, is Managing Director of A.B. Maximus & Co Pte Ltd.   He was formerly Vice President for Resource Development and Dealing, and Trading Representative with a listed securities brokerage in Singapore for 11 years. 

He has been providing training, education consultancy and secretariat services since 1994, and his clients include CFA Singapore, Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia, Permodalan Nasional Berhad,  Society of Remisiers Singapore and Singapore Exchange Limited.  In particular, he specializes in finance and investment related courses including the CFA programme, securities licensing, professional continuing education and investor education programmes. 

He has a Chartered Financial Analyst qualification from the CFA Institute, USA and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree (Honours 2nd Upper) from the National University of Singapore.   


Wang Tao 

Wang Tao is an investment strategist with more than 15 years of investment advisory and research experience on stocks, FX and commodities.  He is a dynamic and excellent speaker with high profile on public media and a key professional well sought by frontline sales to support their efforts in providing various on-demand market views, trading ideas and reports. He is also an active educator on major in- house workshops, local and overseas seminars. 

 
He is presently President of Technical Analyst Society of Singapore.  He was Associate Director (Technical Strategy) at UBS and Investment Strategist at MF Global, Singapore.   

He has an MBA( Finance) from the University of Leicester, U.K. and Bachelor of Arts Degree (major in English Language and Literature) from Henan University, China.  He also has the Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services Examination (CMFAS) Module 1, 2, 7 qualifications.


 Christopher Tan 
Christopher brings with him almost a decade of experience in the wealth management and financial planning industry. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Providend Limited, an Independent Private Wealth and Investment Management firm in Singapore. 

Christopher is primarily responsible for the development of the firm’s strategy. Under his leadership, Christopher brings together a team of highly qualified consultants with different professional background under one roof. With a single-minded vision, he brings a fresh and unique perspective to the wealth management business by developing the current model of Providend Limited - taking an unprecedented move into fee-only wealth management services where all commissions associated with the products are returned to the client. He also developed the efficient consulting model of Providend; where the Advisory Team focuses on serving the clients while the Specialist Consulting Group will develop the financial strategies for them. 

Christopher received his Bachelor of Financial Services Degree with honours from the National University of Ireland. He also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from University of Warwick, which has one of the top business schools in the world.  Professionally, he is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore.
